Senior Test Automation Analyst

This is a hybrid working pattern role and ideally you will be based within a commutable distance to one of the following CGI offices Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham, but we will consider candidates from other UK locations.
All applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to Security Check (SC) level as a minimum.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

You’ll be working on a flagship programme that helps positively impact UK Citizens lives. As the digital transformation for this programme takes shape, our teams have expanded significantly, and we have recently restructured to bring clearer accountabilities and greater focus on successful delivery. As part of the team, you will be responsible for testing applications which support client services and collaborate with delivery teams, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You will;
• Review requirements and specifications; define test conditions, create test scripts for both manual and automation execution using test tooling solution e.g. playwright
• Raise and manage defects and help prioritise them based on defect priority and severity using defect management tools e.g. JIRA
• Collaboratively work together to ensure Products are Accessibility compliant and meet departmental standards.
• Share best practice, actively network within our public sector client and outside to share and improve consistency of approach and, taking ideas and input from others, whilst supporting others with their work delivery.
• Evaluate software applications to identify bugs and ensure optimal functionality
• Execute test cases to detect software defects and enhance usability.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, and test reports.
• Ensure software meets user requirements and performance expectations.
• Review requirements, defining test conditions, and creating manual and automated test scripts using tools like Playwright
• Mentor other testers and promoting best practices in testing and quality assurance

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

We’re looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills, capable of leading testing efforts within agile teams. You should have hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing, be confident in planning and managing testing across multiple projects, and work well with cross-functional teams. You will also lead, coach and mentor others, and promote best practices.
You’ll also need to demonstrate some or all of the following:
• Experience testing within an agile environment with proven track record of producing, maintaining comprehensive robust and reliable test automation scripts in a CICD environment from business requirements, documenting defects & highlight risk, offering solutions and monitoring through to resolution.
• A strong understanding of CICD approaches and tooling in AWS and Git.
• A proactive can-do approach to your work and be able to work remotely with minimal instructions/ supervision.
• Ability to analyse a situation to identify what is required to ensure UIs and APIs are tested successfully including Non-functional testing.
• Be capable of working comfortably with technical and specialist stakeholders and act as a facilitator to elicit information from them which may need escalating.
• Experience is also required across the following tech stack: BDD, Java, Selenium, Springboot, AWS, Gitlab CI, Docker, Stubbing, Swagger, Mongo.
