As directed by the supervisors, lead a team of technicians to provide required support to operational teams, carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair of all equipment, vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops to ensure functional reliability to meet the 24-hour requirements of the operations. The job holder should be capable to work independently to ensure maximum serviceability of the equipment.

Responsibilities

Plan

Plan activity on a daily basis in their area of work to deliver assigned tasks, supporting technician and junior technicians as required. Ensure that relevant details of spares and tools required for carrying out maintenance activities are provided to the supervisors, maintenance officer and/or planning staff well in advance to facilitate timely procurement of the same.

Lead

Lead and perform scheduled maintenance as per set standards (including manufacturers' recommendations, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, Civil Aviation Authority, local and DM requirements) on the various equipment, vehicles and plant to ensure reliable and optimum utilization of the same. Train and develop the team of technicians on maintenance, fault finding and safety procedures. Inspect all equipment, vehicles and plant in their area of responsibility daily for operational reliability and safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the work area. Also carry out mandatory safety and quality checks of equipment and vehicles prior to releasing the same after completion of maintenance or repair. Ensure standard safety procedures are followed by the team of technicians and drivers during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment damage.

Execute

Diagnose and repair faults and defects effectively on equipment, vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that downtime is minimized. Continuously suggest and implement modifications on the equipment and vehicles based on the required approvals from manufacturer and higher authorities to reduce maintenance costs and improve performance and safety of the same. Ensure good housekeeping is maintained in the workshop and other work areas and take proper care of tools. During scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment, vehicles and plant, identify any potential or existing faults and failures and highlight the same to supervisors to initiate corrective action. Ensure all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the logbook or work order.

Ideal Candidate Profile

High school (minimum 10 years of schooling) with 2 years trade certificate course in an engineering discipline. 4-6 years of experience in maintenance - facilities, auto or electric mechanic. English level 5. Thorough knowledge and experience (theoretical and practical) in maintenance of mechanical, electrical, electronic, automobile, air conditioning and refrigeration systems of ground support equipment or heavy vehicles or material handling equipment and systems. Theoretical and practical knowledge on hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyor systems, PLCs, AC-DC motor control systems, traction batteries and chargers with minimum 2 years of experience would be an advantage. Effective communication in English (verbal and written). UAE driving license or home country driving license (not required in cargo areas). Valid license for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in cargo areas).
