THE TEAM The Core Data Services team is at the center of Data and Analytics initiatives leveraging data from all Live Nation Entertainment businesses. We are building a modern data platform to support enterprise data needs. Our mission, and yours too should you choose, is to empower and enable our data community of engineers, data scientists, analysts and decision makers to create value. Our team consists of Product Management, Program Management, Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams. We are building a highly functional, performant, modern Data Lake while supporting our current data platforms; the focus is on maximizing functionality, creating value and content/data assets, cost optimization and usability of the data delivery and services. With stakeholders across Live Nation Entertainment’s business, and with such broad ownership of critical data assets and platforms, we need highly technical program managers–you!–who will own planning, unblocking, and accelerating our critical data deliveries. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Detail-oriented with a bias for action, especially when providing clarity from ambiguity. An excellent communicator for technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. A natural organizer who can help dissect and organize complicated and ambiguous problems into workable projects, using technical expertise to see around corners, and organizing engineering and cross-functional resources to deliver results. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO + Own end to end planning and execution ownership for specified team(s). + Drive architecture discussions and contribute to architecture and design for our data platform and associated tooling. + Build prototypes and proofs of concept for data migration, transformation, and reporting. + Define and execute programs, including writing key documentation such as project charters or program narratives to enable large, distributed, worldwide systems while meeting stringent privacy and compliance requirements. + Partner with Product and Tech Leads to prioritize work, define scope and ensure alignment to our CDS missions. + Manage project intake, estimation, prioritization and capacity planning. + Collaborate with Product to manage requirements, then organize technical efforts. + Work with Data Architects and Engineering to develop accurate, realistic delivery timelines. + Align roadmaps, deliverables, and dependencies across interdependent teams to meet milestones and deliver holistic designs. + Drive cross-functional programs to optimize performance, cost, and reliability of high performance data systems. + Anticipate bottlenecks and use sound judgment to make smart trade-offs (e.g., time vs. effort vs. features); effectively negotiate while being willing to readjust priorities to ensure the right customer, technology, and engineering outcomes. + Identify and communicate risks; collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and implement risk mitigation plans. Help remove impediments and overcome challenges to ensure on time delivery. + Identify and quickly resolve changes in scope, schedules and resource requirements. + Break down large, complex projects into manageable phases and deliver measurable, timely results. + Establish and track milestones, schedules and key metrics to ensure visibility and transparency into program health and support data-driven decision-making. + Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to enable seamless collaboration. + Ensure open and clear communication regarding product releases, roadmaps, and risks, including with up and downstream stakeholders where needed. + Support teams with agile best practices, track delivery performance against committed deliverables. + Work directly in data management and storage systems such as Databricks to measure, track and manage projects through timely delivery. WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING + 6+ years Program Management experience, including 3+ years working with data. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. + Experience with the latest data architectures and methodologies, including streaming data, data mesh, streaming and ETL transformations, and related technologies. + Ability to write SQL queries, test API endpoints, and build dashboards. + A proven track record of delivering complex data infrastructure, orchestrations, and reporting tools while managing multiple priorities. + Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Asana, and Smartsheet. + Full competency in multiple project management methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall. + Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation. + Ability to understand the big picture of technical projects and anticipate dependencies. + Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including engineering, product and stakeholders. + Ability to regularly engage with senior stakeholders and influence across the organization without formal authority, especially when negotiating to resolve conflict smoothly to keep programs on track. + Ability to deliver intended value while simplifying the initial scope assumptions within the iron triangle. + A commitment to fostering a culture of openness, transparency and continuous improvement. + Basic proficiency in data management and storage systems such as Databricks.
