This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office. About the Job How this role will make an impact: This job is responsible for leading execution of the strategy, vision and roadmap for the product lifecycle that will serve our pet parents and associates. It is responsible for articulating and setting the direction for a seamless experience that keeps our customer and/or associates connected and informed. Will partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand their user requirement needs and be most closely partnered with the technical teams to bring respective products to life through development cycles. It will be a subject matter expert and lead multiple verticals and complex and impactful products. Your goals and responsibilities will include: Product visionary: Defines the vision for product(s) driven by data, insights, and research that aligns with PetSmart’s overall strategic vision and goals. Oversees product through all stages of the lifecycle and ensure product maintenance and scalability features are properly prioritized, in addition to enhancements. Product roadmap: Develops, prioritizes, communicates, and provides leadership with a product roadmap that creates best-in-class customer experiences based on understanding of the customer across channels. Defines all KPIs for success of the products on the roadmap; continuously monitors KPIs post-implementation to validate hypotheses and understands future enhancement opportunities. Articulates clear product priorities driven by data and expected outcomes that are inclusive of measurable KPIs and targets that align with company and business goals. Optimizes the product and feature roadmap assessing priorities and trade-offs. Customer advocate: Works closely with Engineering, and Business Stakeholders to define tests for upcoming initiatives and areas of opportunity for optimization. Understands customer pain points and work closely with Engineering and other development partners to define solutions. Communication: Manages relationships with stakeholders, intakes their requests, gathers requirements, discusses prioritization, and is transparent about timing and delivery. Communicates product updates to all stakeholders over the course of multiple meetings and various communication methods (email, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, etc.). Collaborates with business stakeholders to maintain a backlog of feature requests and a product roadmap. Ensures coordination and collaboration across product managers to properly manage dependencies and avoid duplication of work. Continual Improvement: Understands technical issues to effectively make decisions around prioritizing new features, reducing technical debt and improving resiliency. Fully understands and remains up to date on the competitive landscape. Discovers testing opportunities with new or existing features. Oversees product through all stages of the lifecycle and ensure product maintenance and scalability features are properly prioritized, in addition to enhancements. Proactively identifies innovative solutions to meet business needs. What you’ll bring to the table: MUST HAVES: Bachelor’s degree - Math, Science, Computer Science, or Business preferred or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience in marketing technology or technical product management, with a focus on CRM, digital marketing communications (Email, SMS, Push), personalization strategies, and media platforms. Deep understanding of media channels and CRM strategies, with a strong grasp of customer identity resolution and personalization techniques; retail or similar consumer-focused industry experience preferred. Proven experience developing and executing customer identity strategies to support personalized customer engagement across owned and paid channels. Experience working within Cloud Platforms or similar tools (e.g. GCP, AWS, Snowflake, Data Bricks and etc.). Experience working within Sales Force Marketing Cloud, Hightouch or similar tools Expertise in digital advertising, identity resolution, and audience segmentation. Experience supporting media buying, campaign measurement, and personalization-enabled targeting Ability to translate marketing strategies into clear technical requirements and roadmaps. Experience for managing vendors to deliver components of projects Understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and Waterfall methodology Should be customer-oriented, mission focused, and a quick, continuous learner Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively between business and technical teams Ability to work with and through others to resolve issues Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and the ability to deal with ambiguity Experienced oral and written communicator with good interpersonal skills Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a solid work ethic. NICE TO HAVES: Experience with platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, NeuStar, Google Marketing Platform, The Trade Desk, Meta Ads, or similar—especially as they relate to personalized campaign execution and identity-based targeting. Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Teams and Lucid Charts Release management experience.
