Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Senior Technical Manager to join our team! In this role you will support the construction engineering, estimating, preconstruction, and field execution teams on complex projects, including structures, highways, major bridges, civil/structural works, and complex programs. 

This position may be required to lead one or more of these functions as project needs dictate. 

The role integrates: 

Advanced construction engineering (means and methods, temporary works, constructability, phasing) 

Principallevel estimating 

Scheduling and risk mitigation 

Preconstruction activities 

Construction management oversight, including field supervision, administration, procurement, and client interface 

What You'll Be Doing:

Construction Management

Plan construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.

Assess budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. 

Review the availability and qualifications of subcontractors, field engineering support, and major construction equipment to maximize efficiency and productivity. 

Assess Construction Superintendents and Construction Engineers/Specialists across work areas; monitor progress and recommend corrective actions as required. 

Evaluate construction practices to achieve required quality at maximum efficiency and minimum cost. 

Verify effective implementation of all company and client policies and procedures, including safety and labor relations. 

Construction Engineering & Technical Solutions

Coordinate the development and review of construction means and methods, including complex staging, access, and temporary works solutions for major infrastructure and bridge projects. 

Participate in constructability reviews, project phasing, and work sequencing to optimize safety, cost, and schedule. 

Coordinate with design teams to ensure designs are optimized for construction, particularly on complex and alternative delivery projects. 

Develop and implement technical strategies to accelerate and recover schedules and mitigate cost and risk on large and mega projects. 

Collaborate with construction management to eliminate hazards that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. 

Resolve technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s) and coordinate the implementation of solutions. 

Interface with the client, project management, and upper level management as needed. 

Estimating & Cost Management

Support and lead, as needed, the preparation and management of detailed estimates for large and complex projects. 

Assign, mentor, and oversee estimating teams, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures. 

Review contract documents to determine the reasonableness of estimated costs and verify that all risks and contingencies have been appropriately applied. 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a construction related discipline; or equivalent construction related work experience. 10+ years of experience in construction, including substantial complex project experience in construction management, estimating, construction engineering and self-perform projects

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
