**JOB OVERVIEW**
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Technical Engineer/Officer.
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, this position is responsible for designing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting control computer systems within a nuclear facility.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES **
+ Implementing software modifications using both high level (C/C++/Python/.NET) and low-level (assembly, machine code) languages
+ Embedded system design and integration of hardware and software components
+ Development of computer system requirements and associated documentation in accordance with the Engineering Change Control (ECC) process
+ Application of cyber security best practices in computing systems related modifications in the station
+ Development of comprehensive design documentation, technical specifications, plans, procedures, user manuals, reports, guidelines, and other technical documentation for systems involving computer systems
+ Execution of test procedures and authoring technical reports
+ Validation and verification of software designs (code review, configuration testing, subsystem testing, etc.) on simulation and test environments
+ Maintaining and upgrading site computer labs, support tools, and test jigs
+ Working with digital controller programming/coding
+ Working with Nuclear software program governance
+ Attend meetings, conferences, and required training
+ Other duties as required
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Software/Electrical engineering or Computer Science is required; a P.Eng designation would be an asset.
+ Minimum 2 years experience in a computer engineering or equivalent role
+ Experience working with various software systems such as C/C++/Python/Assembly
+ Experience in VHDL and Verilog programming languages would be an asset
+ Excellent time management skills and ability to work as a team player
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
