Senior Technical Accountant

This position will be a key member of Edwards Lifesciences’ Global Technical Accounting and Reporting group and will play a key role in accounting for Edwards’ complex and technical accounting transactions. Position will interact with external auditors, internal auditors, and management.

You will ensure correct application of U.S. GAAP and accuracy, quality and compliance of the Company's financial reporting. Partner with Business Unit and Regional finance representatives to provide guidance on various areas of accounting as well as compliance with the Company's Global Policies. This role will allow you the bandwidth needed to learn new processes and other skillsets as you grow with Edwards.

How you’ll make an impact:       

Perform financial close procedures on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and other analyses related to complex technical accounting areas.Perform all equity accounting, including basic and diluted earnings per share calculations, stock-based compensation accounting, ESPP, and consolidated equity roll forward.Perform derivative/hedge accounting and other technical accounting duties, including lease accounting, as assigned.Prepare disclosures for 10-Q/10-K, the annual proxy, and statutory filings in areas of responsibility.Assist in the review of the quarterly earnings releases and annual proxy.Accountable for all related SOX narratives and SOX controls in areas of responsibility.Provide all related external and internal audit support in areas of responsibility.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial policies and procedures are followed.Identify and evaluate process improvement and/or course correction/course alignment opportunities.Other duties, such as develop, maintain and update desk procedures documentation as processes change for efficiency and coordinate with internal business partners and/or third-party providers to resolve issues on as-needed basis.

What you'll need (Required):

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or BusinessMinimum of five years of relevant experience (or three years with a Master’s degree)Public accounting experience or larger company experience (number of years of public accounting experience may reduce the total years of overall experience required)

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalentExperience with complex accounting transactions, such as equity accounting (including ASC 718 stock-based compensation), lease accounting, and derivativesUnderstanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards, including the ability to research GAAPInternational entity exposureOneStream and/or JD Edwards Enterprise One experienceKnowledge of Workiva's WdeskMicrosoft-based operating systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $80,000 to $113,000 (highly experienced).
