Senior Tax Accountant

Emerson is a global leader in automation technology and software.  This position is within the Corporate Tax Department which supervises all aspects of corporate income taxes and is viewed as a trusted business advisor throughout the organization.  Team members gain exposure across multiple subject areas of the Corporate Tax function.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Participate in the completion of the consolidated Form 1120 filing through preparation and review of tax packages, compiling relevant consolidated supporting documentation, and completing additional return statements. Assist in preparation of Company’s tax provision pursuant to ASC 740. Assist with the assimilation of acquired companies into accounting methods used by Emerson and inclusion in the consolidated federal income tax return. Participate in the complete lifecycle of state income and franchise tax compliance, including the preparation of quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and tax return filings for both separate entity and unitary filings. Review and analyze state nexus implications of payroll and on-site service work performed by various US subsidiaries. Partner with various finance team members across all subsidiary locations to coordinate flow of information. Assist with federal and state tax planning and controversy matters, including preparation/gathering of audit documents. Perform ad hoc analyses of tax issues to support management inquiries, as requested. Find opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improvements in tax processes through continuous evaluation of technology solutions. Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor or Masters of Science in Accounting or Tax Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Masters in Tax preferred CPA strongly preferred 2-5 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and/or corporate tax department of a multinational organization   Our Culture & Commitment to You:
