Job Description An lead defense contractor sitting in Simi Valley, CA is looking to hire a Senior Systems Test Engineer. This person will be working a 9/80 schedule onsite full time. He/She will be contributing 10% of their time to attending department meetings, completing administrative tasks and the other 30% will be working with the Program Manager's to review estimates and time required. The other 50% will be working on developing their own test plans and documents to support the programs and the rest of the time they will be expected to execute the test plans, giving most of their test assignments to their Junior Engineer. He/She will be developing their own test plans to meet a set of requirements their given. There will likely be a test plan per month, flight test execution per month, and a new software block every month. This role will require 10-30% of travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for flight test activities (typically one week out of the month). This position is paying between $118,107 - $167,475/year depending on qualifications and years of experience. Skills and Requirements - 10-12+ years of experience within Systems Engineering, developing test plans, meeting a set of requirements etc. - Experience taking a product through to flight testing, software testing, ground testing; Understanding the estimation on hours required - Previous leading and/or mentorship of a Junior Engineer to execute and develop test procedures Ability to travel up to 10-30% of the time to Salt Lake City, UT for flight tests; Handling logistics plans, test cards and execution of procedures onsite - Understand how to integrate the software block into the team’s workflow
