As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will drive the design, analysis, and implementation of complex systems that keep aircraft, crews, and operations reliably connected. What YOU will do:
You will lead highly technical engineering teams on challenging RF-focused projects, guiding design, development, and integration.
You will analyze statements of need and customer requirements, breaking them down into system, sub-system, and part-level specifications.
You will develop RF test procedures, evaluate communications equipment, and document your technical analysis.
You will perform analysis of data flows, data logs, and system performance against latency, availability, and capacity requirements.
You will implement architectural changes, customer enhancements, and solutions that span hardware, software, and networks.
You will represent Collins Aerospace in industry forums and cross-discipline engineering teams.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
U.S. citizenship (required for government contract work).
Experience with full life-cycle engineering: development, test, implementation, and long-term support.
Proven success implementing architectural changes and customer-driven enhancements to complex, multi-server, multi-network systems.
Experience with system integration, verification and validation, requirements analysis, and supportability studies.
Hands-on experience analyzing system performance through statistical methods and tools.
Background working with communications systems, government customers, and in a service-oriented business model.
Experience working in high availability systems with redundant architectures and RMA principles.
Strong ability to collaborate across hardware, software, and network engineering teams.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with VHF and HF RF technologies and propagation.
Hands-on experience with lab and field RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, attenuators, etc.).
Knowledge of software-defined radio (SDR), modem development, and advanced digital signal processing.
Familiarity with RF modeling/simulation tools such as MATLAB, SIMULINK, or LabVIEW.
Experience with high-power RF transmitters (up to 5,000 watts), directional antennas, and interference mitigation.
Background in microwave systems, aeronautical communication, air traffic management, or airline operations.
Participation on industry committees developing communications specifications.
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills across multiple business units (Avionics, Mission Systems, Commercial Systems).

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
