The Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers Systems Engineering team in Government Training Engineering (GTE) under Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their team in Hazelwood, Missouri or Orlando, Florida.

This role will focus on the development of requirements, architectures, and designs for training systems in support of P-8 Poseidon anti-surface/submarine warfare aircraft, C-17 Globemaster, KC-46 Tanker, E-7 Wedgetail, E-3 Sentry, and B-52 Stratofortress programs.

Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration, and test engineers. The selected applicant will be a member of a geographically dispersed, high-performing, collaborative team, and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills. This team operates in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support all aspects of product development.

The applicant will be expected to actively help the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions to products and processes and to coach the team in systems engineering and integration best practices. The Systems Engineering team has multiple openings to perform roles across the development of our training solutions.

GTE is responsible for designing, developing, building, integrating, delivering and upgrading flight and maintenance training solutions for the warfighter. The simulators developed are not off the shelf video games but are high fidelity, tech heavy, fully immersive training machines that allow the warfighter to maintain their mission readiness in their pursuit to defend freedom around the world.

Position Responsibilities:

Collaborate and contribute within an agile, cross-functional engineering team to develop and deliver quality products and value to our customer at critical, technical milestonesDevelop and maintain performance, specification, and compliance requirements in DOORSEstablish, maintain, and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design in digital systems models being developed by Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practicesLead iterative systems integration of hardware and software on development assets as part of a continuous integration and delivery pipelineLead troubleshooting subsystem-level issues on development assetsLead development and documenting system standup and integration proceduresLead iterative and formal testing eventsContribute to defect management and resolution activitiesLead the subsystems integration plan and activities at customer sitesProvide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexityAct as Technical Lead Engineer (TLE), mentoring and leading early and mid-career systems engineers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science9+ years developing requirements, architectural designs, systems integration, or systems testExperience in performing multiple tasks and in a team environmentIntermediate competency level in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to travel 10%-20% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Active Security Clearance10+ years of experience in requirements elicitation, systems integration, or systems testExperience in operating system (Windows and/or Linux) installation, setup, and basic troubleshootingExperience in software application installation and configurationExperience in configuration and maintenance of network switches and other appliancesAbility to interpret and utilize mechanical drawings and electrical schematics to validate installation of hardware and system interconnectsExperience in leading a product through an entire development cycleExperience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile development environmentExperience with Verification/Validation and Systems IntegrationExperience in aircraft simulation and/or training devicesExperience with the flight or mission critical systems and their capabilities typically found in military aviation – including propulsion, avionics, navigation, sensor, and weapon suites

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: $119,850 - $162,150
