Our Raytheon Australia Under Water Systems team leads the Combat Systems integration for Australia’s entire fleet of Collins Class Submarines. We provide mission support and ensure operational capability to protect, secure and defend our nation.

To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated engineer who is ready to join a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team of technical professionals supporting the Combat System for the Collins Class Submarine Fleet.

Reporting directly to the Combat System Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for the recommendations and governance of new products into the Collins Class Combat Systems, ensuring that there is a seamless transition into service.  As a proactive and collaborative engineer, you will engage directly with key stakeholders as you work to introduce new technology to Australia's fleet. 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide governance and support for Subsystem configuration changes. Ensuring consistent Configuration Baseline management for the introduction of new products into the CS Baseline.  Review and acceptance of Subsystem Roadmaps included ensuring that proposed activities are completed in the timeframes required.  Lead and manage the risks and issues associated with the on-going operations of each Combat System Subsystems through the Subsystem Working Groups (SWG) and ensure subsystems remain safe, available and capable.  Development of Project Briefs to articulate the engineering changes required to support the resolution of a DMDR.  This includes working with the CS Architect to ensure alignment with the CS Architectural direction. Assessment of proposed product changes by external CSSM Enterprise Partners and making recommendations to the customer on their suitability.  Analysis of the proposed CS product change and providing recommendations for the implementation and installation of the changes.  Peer reviewer for all engineering gates when product changes impacts on the relevant subsystem;  Providing product and simulator engineering support for relevant subsystem equipment installed at the Submarine Training School 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Degree Qualified in relevant Engineering disciplines with eligibility to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing and a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.Ideally 8 years’ experience in Systems Engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, requirements management, analysis, design, integration and verification.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier and senior leadership levels.Knowledge of project management milestones coupled with the ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments.Available to undertake travel where necessary to meet requirements of the role.Successful candidates must be able to obtain / maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance.
