KBR’s Hemisphere program is seeking experienced Senior Systems Engineers to support the US Space Force mission of delivering warfighter capability in a relevant timeline. Will have extensive background and direct experience with integrating complex system-of-systems for large-scale space acquisition programs. Applicants require a deep understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and associated milestones throughout requirements development, design, development, test, and transition to operational environments of the Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power (CP) portfolio. Positions are available in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO and Gilbert, AZ.
Hemisphere team members provide systems engineering development and integration expertise in support of enterprise systems that protect and defend the Nation’s most valuable space assets. KBR Hemisphere team members serve as trusted advisors to the Government for architecture, integration, and full lifecycle systems engineering processes that enable key systems such as, but not limited to, satellite and sensor designs, ground segments supporting both ground and space-based assets, and critical command and control capabilities to meet warfighter needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides systems engineering expertise across the lifecycle from concept development to operations (for either Space-based, Ground-based space systems, and/or the Ground Systems Command & Control services that operate those capabilities)
Provides technical oversight of development efforts (i.e. design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, production and sustainment) whether they are traditional acquisition methods (e.g. waterfall, spiral, etc) or agile/prototype
Develops operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; evolves system architectures, conducts and analyzes requirements flow down, proposes verification methodologies and mitigation approaches
Conducts model-based systems engineering plus modeling, simulation, and analysis as needed
Conducts and maintains configuration management of the program technical baseline
Drives risk management processes and methods for identifying and adjudicating program risk; conducts analysis to identify program risk areas and recommends/implements risk reduction measures
Qualifications Required:
Master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
10 or more years of systems engineering and integration related or equivalent experience in a DoD acquisition program
Experience with the Space Control mission area—especially offensive and defensive systems
Expertise in space control systems engineering processes and procedures, including, but not limited to, requirements development, configuration control, and Government Deficiency Review (DR) board establishment, execution, plus DR disposition and management for classified programs
Skilled in identifying system and/or project challenges and identifying viable courses of action to mitigate those challenges
Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct ACAT-like technical design reviews and audits
Ability to develop, update, and coordinate ACAT-like program documentation
Active Top Secret clearance, SCI eligible
Amenable to being nominated for Special Access Programs
Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Experience working in an acquisition development environment
Collaborative and works seamlessly with a multi-disciplined engineering team
Professional certification (e.g. Professional Engineer, INCOSE, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM/PO, etc.)
Basic Compensation:
El Segundo: $150,000 - $175,000
Colorado Springs: $135,000 - $160,000
Gilbert Arizona: $140,000 - $165,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s work location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
