Job Description

Climate Change is a reality we all face today. As Built Environment professionals we have a key role to play as, 40% of the Global Green House Gas emissions is from the construction sector. In the midst of climate emergency, AECOM's Building Sustainability Team are seeking a curious individual, with bold ideas, who wants to make a difference in the built environment.

There is an exciting new role within the Building's Sustainability Team, which has been developed to meet the growing demands of the technical and strategic sustainability consultancy services at the built environment. Sustainability is a cross disciplinary field that cuts across key sectors. Depending on your years of experience, curiosity, and skillset you will be sitting within the team with a focus on the following streams:

The Senior Sustainability Consultant will lead and deliver sustainability advisory and certification services across complex built environment projects. The role requires a strong technical background, sound judgement, and the ability to communicate complex sustainability concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while maintaining high standards of reporting and client management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of sustainability projects, acting as a technical specialist within a wider project team or as Project Manager with full delivery responsibility.Provide sustainability advisory services across all project stages, from early design through construction and certification close-out.Develop, implement, and manage LEED certification strategies at in alignment with project objectives, budgets, and programmes.Lead project readiness for LEED v5 certification, ensuring compliance within defined timelines.Undertake and review technical analyses including energy modelling, daylighting studies, carbon assessments, and other building physics evaluations.Review and validate architectural, MEP, materials, and performance documentation to confirm compliance with LEED and other applicable rating systems.Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to embed sustainability requirements into the design and delivery process.Prepare clear, accurate, and high-quality technical reports and certification documentation suitable for client issue and third-party review.Advise non-technical stakeholders on complex sustainability and certification requirements in a clear and accessible manner.

Technical and Professional Skills

Strong technical expertise in sustainable development and green building certification within the built environment.Proven track record of delivering green building certifications within the built environment.Ability to apply critical thinking, analytical skills, and sound technical judgement to complex project challenges.Proven consulting experience, including successful delivery of green certification certified projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 8 years of direct professional experience delivering building sustainability certifications such as LEED, Mostadam, Estidama, WELL, and or equivalent rating systems.Bachelor's degree of equivalent degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Sciences.Accredited professional certificates in sustainability rating systems, such as LEED AP, Estidama PQP etc.
