Senior Surveyor – Retail - Shopping Centre Leasing

The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for the leasing of shopping centre and retail assets across London and the wider UK portfolio on behalf of landlord clients. The role focuses on delivering proactive leasing strategies, securing new lettings, maintaining income and optimising tenant mix to enhance asset performance. The Senior Surveyor will manage transactions from initial marketing and viewings through to negotiation of Heads of Terms and legal completion. The position requires strong commercial awareness, detailed market knowledge and the ability to build and maintain relationships with retailers, agents, clients and solicitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively market and lease vacant retail units, prepare marketing details, arrange and undertake viewings, and engage directly with potential tenants and agents to generate transactions.
Negotiate commercial terms and draft Heads of Terms for new lettings, renewals and regears, maintaining accurate schedules of accommodation and tenancy data.
Measure retail units and provide rental analysis, comparable evidence and strategic advice on rental levels and incentives.
Manage transactions through to legal completion, liaising with solicitors, landlord clients and asset managers to ensure efficient progression of deals.
Work closely with the shopping centre management team to align leasing activity with asset strategy, occupancy targets and overall performance objectives.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in retail or shopping centre leasing within an agency or landlord environment is desirable
Demonstrable experience negotiating and structuring Heads of Terms and progressing deals through to completion.
Sound understanding of retail measurement methodologies and the London retail market.
Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability and confidence advising clients on leasing strategy and rental positioning.
Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills; MRICS qualified or working towards preferred.
