This Senior Support Engineer - TRACE supports HVAC solutions through the customer support, testing and commercialization of cutting-edge commercial building HVAC design & simulation software as part of the Trane Customer Driven Solutions (C.D.S.) support team.

Where is the work:
From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
What you will do:
Provide direct Technical Support to Engineering and Contractor customers using TRACE and other CDS tools
Acting as a subject matter expert for assigned systems and special assignments
Assist with Product Development of TRACE by providing input to requirements, feeding VOC pipeline through support channels, etc.
Train internal and external customers on new or yet to be released features.
Executing regression tests, functional tests and data tests.
Limited overnight travel is required.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related degree is required with at least 5 years experience in new product development, contract engineering, building simulation development
Masters degree preferred
Key Competencies:
Strong computer skills using MS Office Suite and other Windows programs required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
Familiarity with BIM tools (ie. Revit)
Expert knowledge of HVAC products and systems
Knowledge of commercial building construction industry is a plus.
Understanding of applied mathematics and numerical modeling techniques
Ability to profile memory use and performance of executable software
Knowledge of software limitations and capabilities related to technologies and design approaches used in real buildings
Understanding of the software development process.
Experience with Agile practices is desired
Knowledge of writing Excel Macros and Shell Scripts is desired.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,000- $120,000
