Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with a specialized focus on Chemical Agent Resistance Coating (CARC) to support audits, supplier-specific requirements and offer technical support to suppliers. In this role as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards, minimize quality costs, and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring that procedures and processes are compliant. This position is "fully remote" with travel of up to 75%, ideally suited for candidates based within a reasonable commute of either of these cities: + York, Pennsylvania + Sterling Heights, Michigan A self-starter and problem solver, as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer with a background in CARC, you will utilize analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. You'll use your exceptional communication skills to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations. Using metrics and analytical tools, you'll quantify performance levels of individual suppliers and work with suppliers to develop improvement plans to achieve 100% Quality performance. Core Responsibilities: + Conduct audits to assess supplier compliance to quality management systems and applicable special process requirements. + Evaluate the impact of nonconforming product and assess suppliers corrective actions. + Problem solve and perform root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. + Perform inspections of product at supplier locations. + Drive Zero Defect mentality within the supply base. Note regarding location: This is a remote/work-from-home opportunity, however, this particular Senior Supplier Quality Engineer position must have a home base within a reasonable commute of either Sterling Heights, MI or York, PA. This position does not have relocation assistance. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Typically requires a Bachelor s Degree in Engineering and/or Chemical Agent Resistance Coating (CARC) specific training with at least four (4) years of related experience, or the overall equivalent; + Must have Chemical Agent Resistance Coating (CARC) expertise. The candidate must have a deep understanding of CARC paint technical specifications, including: + Chemical composition; + Military specification requirements; + Surface preparation and application techniques; + Corrosion resistance and environmental performance standards. + Working knowledge of Quality System Requirements; + Knowledgeable in engineering drawings and GD&T; + Well familiarized with engineering codes and standards; + Skills in problem solving Root Cause / Corrective Action; + Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite; + Ability to exercise discretion and independent, sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations; + Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively disseminate information and work collaboratively; + Ability to develop and demonstrate research and presentation skills; + Good planning, time management, and organization skills; + Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers; + Able to support travel of up to 75% with a home base within a reasonable commute to York, PA or Sterling Heights, MI. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Bachelors in Engineering for Chemical or Materials Science, or Coating Technology; Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt; First Piece Inspection / Testing (AS9102); Process Failure and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans; Oracle; TipQA; QMS Lead Auditor certification; ASQ certifications (Auditor, Metrology, Quality Engineer, etc.); NADCAP Paint/Coating Auditor certification; Part Production Approval Process (PPAP) experience; Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) experience. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
