Join Oshkosh Aerotech as a Senior Supervisor, overseeing daily operations and management of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at a major airport facility. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating multi-shift teams, ensuring operational continuity, safety, and compliance with TSA and airport regulations. The Senior Supervisor will act as a key liaison between shift supervisors, site leadership, and airport stakeholders, ensuring optimal performance in a 24/7 environment.

YOUR IMPACT
Lead and coordinate the daily operation of the BHS across all shifts, ensuring maximum system availability and performance.
Manage, schedule, and support the performance of shift supervisors and operational staff.
Identify operational bottlenecks or system alarms and escalate unresolved or critical faults to Site Manager.
Support the planning and execution of maintenance activities with minimal impact on system throughput.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Enforce adherence to OSHA, TSA, airport, and company safety procedures.
Conduct and document safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation plans.
Ensure staff compliance with use of PPE and other safety protocols.
Lead and document incident investigations; perform root cause analyses and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Team & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point-of-contact for escalated operational issues with airlines, TSA, airport operations, and internal departments.
Collaborate closely with the Site Manager and peers to align daily operations with contractual service-level agreements (SLAs).
Participate in shift handovers, team briefings, recruiting efforts, and performance reviews.
System Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor BHS status using SCADA or PLC-based control systems; analyze trends and address anomalies.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of work orders, shift logs, fault logs, and reports.
Assist in developing KPI reports and performance metrics
Propose process and technology improvements based on operational data.
Availability & Flexibility
Provide on-call support 24/7 and work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
Participate in scheduled and ad-hoc meetings, training sessions, airport tours, and audits.
Perform other duties as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a technical, operational, or maintenance environment
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain and maintain airport security badge
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively
Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial technology, or related field
Prior experience in airport baggage handling, airline ground operations, or facility maintenance in a 24/7 operational environment
Working knowledge of electromechanical systems, PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and HMI control interfaces
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of Sr. Supervisor the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good, close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While some administrative duties may be performed in an office setting, the role primarily involves on-site supervision in airport ramp areas, mechanical rooms, and baggage system enclosures. Work environments may include:
Elevated platforms or confined spaces
Active aircraft operations zones
Areas near conveyor systems, motors, or electrical panels
Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
