You’ll have the autonomy to lead end-to-end subcontract strategy, influence key business decisions, and partner with cross-functional leaders—all while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
What You’ll DoAs a Senior leader on the subcontracting team, you will:
Own the full subcontract lifecycle — from requirements definition and RFP/RFQ development to negotiation, award, and supplier managementLead high-value procurements for complex hardware and servicesAnalyze supplier proposals, perform cost/price analysis, and drive negotiation strategiesServe as the primary subcontract point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partnersProvide expert guidance on FAR/DFARS compliance, contractual risk, and business strategyDevelop and manage supplier relationships, resolving issues across multiple programsPartner with program management, legal, and finance to ensure successful executionIdentify risks early and implement creative, business-focused solutionsMentor and guide junior team membersMaintain accurate subcontract records in SAP or similar systemsWhat You BringExperience15+ years of experience in subcontracts, procurement, or contract administration (or equivalent experience)Strong background supporting DoD/DoE programsProven success leading complex subcontract negotiations and cost analysesExperience procuring hardware, assemblies, and technical componentsKnowledge & SkillsDeep expertise in FAR/DFARS regulationsAbility to interpret SOWs, BOMs, and technical requirementsStrong business judgment and ability to advise leadership on risk and strategyExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentToolsExperience with SAP or similar ERP systemsProficiency in standard business and procurement toolsNice to HaveProfessional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPCM, or similar)background in aerospace, defense, energy, or maritime sectorsExperience working across multiple concurrent programs and suppliersWork Environment & BenefitsHybrid schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off )Work across two San Diego locations supporting advanced technology programsJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $116480.00 - $208505.00/yr.
