Kerkhoff Engineering undertakes projects across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. These are primarily large commercial and industrial warehouses compromising of precast concrete wall panels, steel roof, and pile foundations.

About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Structural Engineer / Manager to lead a talented team of professionals. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing technical excellence, ensuring project delivery, and supporting business development. This is an exciting opportunity for a result-driven professional who values innovation, collaboration, and high standards of design excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage the structural and drafting department teams on multiple projects. Oversee quality protocols, technical excellence, and professional development for the team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous technical development. Structural Design and Technical Work: Provide Bluebeam/pdf drafting mark ups to the drafting department Complete shop drawing reviews of structural components of building systems including roof decking, structural steel, roof and floor trusses, door suppliers, etc. Perform structural design calculations and peer reviews of design work Conduct construction site reviews, field reports, and resolve on-site issues Communicate effectively with clients Develop detailed drawings and specifications using Revit and structural analysis software Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure accurate project execution Ensure compliance with industry standards and local building codes Project Management: Oversee and contribute to structural design and analysis for precast concrete and steel structures. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure accurate project execution. Conduct site visits and field reviews. Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. What the successful candidate will bring: Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) & P.Eng with EGBC or APEGA 10+ years of experience with precast concrete design and/or steel structures Strong knowledge of Part 4 of the BC Building code, with an understanding of gravity and lateral design loads. Knowledge of current steel, wood, concrete design codes. Knowledge of Revit and structural analysis tools such as Sap 2000 and Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset. Strong attention to detail and project constructability. In return, you can expect: Base Salary between $135,000 - $160,000 depending on experience.  Those with higher expectations and experience may also be considered Performance bonuses Comprehensive benefits package Professional development is company funded and encouraged Collaborative and supportive work environment Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
