Our team of interdisciplinary engineers works collaboratively with clients to provide them with accurate and timely answers, letters, reports and technical drawings including fabrication details. **Your Duties** The role of the Senior Structural Engineer is to lead a dynamic technical team on telecom related projects, and to impart technical insight to the team including other engineers of records. The Principal Structural Engineer will be able to evaluate, select, and specify design approaches for typical and non-typical projects. Additional responsibility includes: + Proactively identify ways and means to support staff, practice, and firm success. + Directly manages and mentor’s other engineers and technical staff; engaging, developing, and retaining top talent. + Mentors existing staff and work with them to create an appropriate career path and to track their growth. + Acts as quality control reviewer on projects. + Develops design and drawing standards in collaboration with the team. + Attend and/or participate in events where leadership visibility is desired (i.e., company events/parties, industry events, recruiting programs). + Proactively represents firm and pursues opportunities for new business. + Develops and delivers client presentations. + Hire top tier talent focused on meeting the strategic objectives of the Structures Practice. + Participate in the development, dissemination and implementation of a business plan. **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Multiple Canadian Professional Engineering licenses are required. At a minimum Ontario, but the successful candidate will require licenses in most Canadian provinces. + Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable codes + Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards as they relate to telecom infrastructure, specifically, tower and rooftop sites. + Deep understanding and working knowledge of CSA S37-24, S16-24 and A23.3:24, as well as the requirement for dynamic analysis of tall communication structures, wind induces vibrations, fatigue of steel structures and finite element analysis. + Extensive experience with the reinforcement of communications towers – foundation, tower structure, guy anchors, guy wires, etc. + An understanding of geotechnical analysis and reports as they relate to foundation and tower design. + Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to tower owners and telecommunications clients + Ability to check the work of others for technical accuracy, constructability, fit and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule + Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought. **Education and Experience** 15+ years of related experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Master’s Degree is an asset Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite) Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (TS Tower, TS Foundation, RISA, etc.) Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit, sketchup) Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may require travel and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
