HDR is looking for a Structural BIM Specialist to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. This individual excels in a drawing production engineering technician capacity and under supervision, uses technical knowledge and electronic applications, standards, and document control processes for the purpose of creating and modifying BIM models and deliverable drawings of concrete, steel, wood and masonry structures.

In the role of Senior Structural BIM Specialist, we'll count on you to:Drafting and designing HDR Building Engineering Services and Municipal Water projects, including buildings, industrial and commercial structures, water treatment structures, pump stations, and foundationsDevelop models and drawings based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions, with minimal direction from the Architect/Engineer, or other technical professionalBe responsible for the structural model and will generate the BIM elements, based on the Level of Development (LOD) outlined in the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project scope Develop drawings with necessary views, sections and details using Company and/or Client standards and procedures with supervision To be skilled with the software used to produce the designs identified in the Digital Delivery requirementsHave an advanced understanding of architectural/engineering documentation, structural plan presentation, and how it interacts with other discipline modelsAccurately model BIM elements in the correct special constraints of the modeling environment, using the current 3D softwarePrepare detailed drawings, layouts, diagrams of the design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using the current 3D softwareMaintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheetsProduce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling outputMonitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health. Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processesExecute all Digital Delivery requirements identified on the projectLearn and understand project and Company standards and procedures.Performs computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc, as assigned.May learn new programs or processes required for assignments.Effectively communicates with team membersOther duties as assigned

Preferred Technical Competencies:

Intermediate knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills.Intermediate knowledge and experience of BIM (including Revit 2024, 2025)Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides.Basic industry knowledge and technology trendsBasic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.

The expected compensation range for this position is $74,520.00 - $100,821.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
