Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

A Day in the LifeThe Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing process across the LATAM region for Supply Chain categories, including transportation, warehousing, and trade compliance, while supporting global or special initiatives as needed. As part of a global Indirect Sourcing team, it reports into the Director, Strategic Sourcing, based in the US. The role will also partner very closely with stakeholder leaders in the LATAM region. The candidate can be working in a flex work model in/or Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Identify and nurture talentCreate value across ~$150M in annual indirect spend in the regionEngage and influence multiple stakeholders (mostly senior leadership across both manufacturing and commercial sites) to adopt and implement strategies developed by the team; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirementWork independently and build strategic relationships with key suppliersDevelop and implement strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantageAchieve (year-on-year) value improvements for all aspects of quality, service, innovation, costPerform RF(x) events to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realizedLead contract negotiationsProvide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilitiesBuild multi-year (at least 2 years) pipeline to support planning processAssist in Supplier Stratification activities (e.g., Supplier Relationship Management)Gather Market Intelligence and trends for relevant categories and associated sub-categoriesGather internal and external benchmarks in a systematic manner to support sourcing effortsRecommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvementFollow governance processes and Purchasing Controls systems to ensure complianceEducate and train stakeholders on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Bachelor’s degreeTen years of relevant experience in Logistics Sourcing or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Logistics SourcingPrior experience in Supply Chain & Logistics or Logistics SourcingPrior leadership experienceFluency in Spanish and EnglishStrong negotiating skills and trainingKnowledge using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skillsKnowledge of working in FDA regulated industries; Master’s degree (e.g., MBA); Understanding of underlying economics of Supply Chain and Proficient in MS Excel and PowerBI is advantageous
