Purpose of Role 

The Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager leads and owns Sanofi's external engagement strategy with State/Territory Health Departments, Primary Health Networks (PHNs), and Public Health Units (PHUs) across Australia. As Sanofi's recognised subject matter expert in government immunisation partnerships, this role drives measurable improvements in vaccination coverage and health equity outcomes through strategic collaboration, thought leadership and influence.

Operating with significant autonomy in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, this position shapes Sanofi's national immunisation strategy and positions the organisation as a valued public health partner aligned with Australia's National Immunisation Strategy vision of "a healthier Australia through immunisation."

Through trusted senior-level relationships and strategic collaboration across the six NIS priority areas - Improve Access and Equity, Build Trust and Understanding, Use Data More Effectively, Strengthen the Immunisation Workforce, Harness New Technologies, and Implement Sustainable Reform - this role delivers measurable business value while advancing public health objectives.

 

Priorities/Key responsibilities

1. Strategic Partnership Leadership & Senior Stakeholder Management

• Own and execute Sanofi's engagement strategy with State/Territory Health Departments, PHN immunisation leads, and PHU communicable disease teams across all Australian jurisdictions

• Build and maintain trusted, senior-level relationships that position Sanofi as the preferred industry partner in achieving national and jurisdictional immunisation goals

• Represent Sanofi at national immunisation forums, conferences, and industry working groups

2.National & Jurisdictional Immunisation Program Leadership

• Drive smooth adoption and optimal implementation of new NIP-funded and State-funded programs by primary care and community providers

• Own program implementation strategy, launch planning, and operational delivery support across all jurisdictions

• Develop and execute multi-year partnership roadmaps that anticipate policy changes and funding cycles

3. System Intelligence & Program Insights

• Lead comprehensive stakeholder mapping and environmental scanning to identify strategic collaboration pathways

• Provide evidence-based strategic recommendations to ANZ leadership on partnership priorities, resource allocation, and market opportunities

• Monitor and analyse policy developments, funding announcements, and program changes across all jurisdictions

• Translate jurisdictional intelligence into actionable insights

• Present quarterly strategic reviews to senior leadership on partnership performance, trends, and opportunities

• Lead cross-functional working groups to align partnership strategy with commercial, medical, policy, and market access objectives

4. Access, Equity & Coverage Improvement

• Design and execute initiatives that drive measurable improvements in vaccination coverage across priority and under-immunised populations

• Lead collaboration with PHNs and PHUs to identify barriers and develop evidence-based localised solutions

• Track and report on coverage improvement outcomes attributable to Sanofi partnership activities

• Lead dedicated programs to improve vaccine uptake among First Nations communities

5. Provider Enablement & Program Implementation

• Lead provider education strategy that strengthens vaccination practice quality and program uptake

• Own PHN engagement strategy to ensure general practice readiness and effective provider training linkage

6. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

• Define, track, and report on partnership KPIs including coverage improvements and partnership ROI

• Deliver measurable business value through strategic partnerships that advance both commercial objectives and public health outcomes

• Benchmark against global best practices and adapt innovative partnership models for the ANZ context

• Identify emerging opportunities and risks, developing proactive strategies to maximise value and mitigate challenges

Health, Safety and Environment

Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and others.

Cooperate with Sanofi management in the provision of a healthy and safe workplace.

Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviours and immediately notify the Manager of any serious incidents; complete an Incident / Injury Report and forward to Human Resources within 48 hours where necessary.

Undertake duties in accordance with the current Sanofi Policies and Procedures.

Report non-conformance in accordance with the requirements of the Sanofi quality system.

Person Profile

Essential Skills and Experience

6+ years in a senior strategic role in the pharmaceutical, vaccine, or healthcare industry with demonstrated government relations or public health partnership experience

Proven track record of building and maintaining senior-level government relationships 

Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities with ability to translate complex insights into actionable business recommendations and influence senior stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to operate with significant autonomy in complex, ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments requiring sophisticated independent judgment

Exceptional communication and influencing skills (written & verbal) with experience presenting to senior leadership, government officials, and external forums

Project management excellence with ability to manage multiple strategic priorities, stakeholder relationships, and competing deadlines effectively

Willingness to travel extensively across Australian states and territories (up to 20% travel) for stakeholder engagement and program implementation

Essential Qualifications

Degree in Business, Science, Marketing or related

Desirable Skills and Experience

Deep understanding of Australia's immunisation system, State/Territory health department structures, and PHN/PHU operations

Contract or commercial management experience, although experience in a legal, regulatory or medical position might also be considered
