As a Principal Store Planner, you'll be responsible for building H-E-B's vision from the inside out. You'll interpret program and scope details, integrating them with interior / exterior site design and aesthetic for new Stores, remodels, innovation projects, and office spaces. You'll also provide leadership and oversight to design projects and assigned Partners. We are looking for: -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in architecture or interior design -7+ years of role-relevant experience What is the work? -Leads the conceptual planning process and provides full support throughout the entire project. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on specialized templates for complex departments (Rx, food service, etc.) or an HEB Banner (Joe V's, Central Market, HEB Plus, etc.) -Provides professional planning guidance in the layout and coordination of new formats, multi-level, or new process driven Back-of-House department layouts. Independently applies advanced planning concepts and designs that consistent with Architectural, MEP, and ADA accessible requirements. -In collaboration with facility designers/architects, creates multiple bubble diagrams for the early conceptual layout of departments to facilitate the size, scope, and footprint of a new store, remodel, or expansion area, providing calculations and store comparisons. -Manages specific templates that requires continuous planning improvements as the business learns and grows into new areas of business. -Presents planning work during internal design team meetings and leads select merchant meetings related to department template improvements. What is your background? -Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in architecture or interior design -7+ years of role-relevant experience Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Principal Store Planner? -Relevant project experience -Advanced knowledge of all department template space planning requirements, including, but not limited to, sales/ROI goals, drivers of efficient operations, ADA compliance, aisle spacing & customer areas, fixtures & equipment required to operate a department/store, special needs for partner operations & standard operating procedures, and management of department/store equipment -Advanced knowledge of the planning process. Provides mentorship in conceptual planning, hand sketching, bubble diagrams, programming, tagging, bill of materials, store planning deliverables, Design Development hand -off documents, and bulletin/change management processes -Ability to strategically manage multiple & complex standard planning projects for all phases to completion on a monthly basis with little supervision by others. Tracks project status, risks, and schedule changes through project management software. Surfaces workload risks and works with the Manager to prioritize projects and internal/external resources. -Power user of REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the MS Office suite of products. -Strong verbal / written / graphic / process / PowerPoint presentation communication skills Can you... - Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment - Travel with overnight stays - Work extended hours 09-2025
