What will you do?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in managing and maintaining enterprise-level storage systems, ensuring data availability, performance, and security. This position involves leading the design, implementation, and resolution of storage solutions, collaborating closely with storage architecture teams, and guiding the IT team in daily operations. You will lead multiple project work, actively participate in disaster recovery exercises, and emphasize data security in storage administration.
How will you get here?EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).ExperienceMinimum 10-12 years of hands-on experience in SAN and NAS administration.Strong knowledge of storage protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB/CIFS).Extensive experience with enterprise storage platforms from vendors like VASTdata, NetApp, Dell EMC PMAX/Unity/VNX/PowerScale, HPE 3par, Pure, or Hitachi.Advanced experience with AWS storage solutions like FSx, gateways, S3 bucket, etc.Proficient in backup and disaster recovery technologies and strategies.Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with storage solutions.Solid understanding of network infrastructure and its relation to storage environments.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to solve various storage issues.Superb communication and teamwork.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Storage solutions.Monitor storage performance, utilization, and forecasting, and guide the team in these activities.Coordinate and manage storage arrays from vendors.Lead all aspects of data backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and security.Perform and supervise routine maintenance and upgrades on SAN/NAS systems.Resolve storage-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity.Provide advanced technical support to resolve storage problems.Collaborate with IT teams to support database, virtualization, and server environments.Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for storage systems.Monitor and optimize storage performance to ensure high availability.Analyze and forecast storage growth to ensure business continuity.Develop strategies for data archiving, tiering, and storage automation.Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.Generate reports on storage utilization, performance metrics, and capacity trends.Prepare and present technical recommendations for storage upgrades and improvements.Preferred QualificationsIndustry certifications (e.g., NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Dell EMC Proven Professional, HPE ASE Storage Solutions Integrator).Extensive experience with cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for storage management.Additional ExpectationsDemonstrate strong collaboration with storage architecture teams.Lead multiple project work and ensure timely completion.Actively participate in disaster recovery exercises.Have a high emphasis on data security in all aspects of storage administration.
