**Senior Sterile Processing Technologist- Main Hospital- Sterile Processing Ops** The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. It is one of the nation's original three comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute. *ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Performs duties and troubleshoots in all areas of sterile processing to include decontamination, assemble, sterilization of advanced instrumentation and equipment while adhering to the manufacturer and department guidelines. Identifies and inspects instruments for cleanliness and functionality. Operates and troubleshoots equipment. Maintains safety standards. Prepares case carts and delivers instrumentation to the operating room. Stocks operating room par levels for stored instrumentation and emergency carts. *EDUCATION* * Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent * Preferred: Completion of a Sterile Processing Program. *WORK EXPERIENCE* * Required: 2 years Hospital-based sterile processing experience. or * Required: With preferred education, no experience required. *LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS* * Required: CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
