As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Stryker, you will independently design and implement complex systems including application software architecture and the design documentation for Endoscopy products. You will specialize in various technology domains and evaluate and select new technologies and new platforms. You will train and mentor engineers and work closely with peers to develop market leading software that meets customer and system requirements. You will apply the defined design practices including Agile methodology and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that the application software products are safe, robust and user friendly. You will ensure the established engineering practices be effective and efficient by monitoring the best industry practices and integrating them into the organization.
This role is hybrid with the expectation to be in the office 4 days a week in Flower Mound, Texas.

What you will do:
+ Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams in the development and evaluation of Endoscopy products.
+ Apply advanced engineering principles to design secure Windows applications and scalable system architectures, with hands-on experience developing Windows-based applications using C#, C++, and .NET, and a strong focus on WPF and Windows Services.
+ Translate user needs into technical specifications and platform-level design solutions, leveraging experience in video and communication system/workflow design, including software-based routing of video/audio signals.
+ Act as a technical authority, reviewing and refining engineering documentation and guiding complex decisions.
+ Drive risk analysis and mitigation in collaboration with quality and regulatory teams.
+ Serve as a strategic interface across multiple software teams and global development partners.
+ Partner with customers and clinical experts to shape product strategy and customer-centric design.
+ Support project planning and execution while fostering innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you need:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
+ Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
+ 6+ years of software engineering experience
+ Hands-on experience developing windows based applications using multiple programming languages like C#, C++, .Net, with strong hold on WPF and windows services.
+ Experienced in research and development of Video and Communication system/workflow design including experience with routing video/audio signals using Software.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Surgical Device Communication workflow, Video Card integration and workflow, Digital Image Enhancement applications. Knowledgeable in Video standards (HDMI, BT2020, HDR, HLG, 10-bit video pipeline etc)
+ Ethernet, IP networking, AV over IP protocols: TCP/UDP, multicast, QoS, VLANs, NDI, SDVoE
+ Knowledge of FPGAs (e.g., for HDMI routing or signal timing).
+ Networking related certifications like CCNA
