Summary:
The Sr Staff Network Architect will provide direction & execution on Wabtec’s Global Network Infrastructure. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and possess broad technical Networking skills with the ability to implement solutions and changes across a large global organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Contributor role working with cross functional teams in defining strategy and technology roadmap for Network WLAN, LAN and WAN Architecture StandardsContributor role in Site and Data Center Migration initiatives supporting Global Locations with SDWAN deployments, Integration into Wabtec Standards and AWS VPC Migrations with a focus on Business operational requirementsParticipate in Network projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and be a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Networking InfrastructureDefine and maintain repeatable reference documentation for network architecturesDetermine network design requirements and prepare cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirementsMonitor network performance and serve as highest escalation point for critical incidents impacting operationsCollaborate with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediationMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering, and or minimum of 15 years of broad Network Design and Support experience with diverse Global Enterprise environmentsProficient with BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols.Proficient with AWS/Azure Networking VPC, Transit Gateways, Direct Connects, ACL and Security Group design and Implementation.Certification and/or familiarity with a broad range of Networking Equipment Design and Configuration: Cisco, Aruba, Nexus, HP, CheckPoint, ASA, Fortinet, SDWAN Principals, QOS PrincipalsFamiliarity with broad range of Network Monitoring Tools: Wire Shark, Solar Winds, Splunk, CA Performance Center, IBM QROC, etcExperience working with Telco Circuit and SDWAN providers.Actively seeks next-gen certifications pertinent to the roleKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Capable of establishing strong relationships and trust with Business Management Teams and Users alikeWilling to embrace change and manage or influence required activities to reach desired outcomesCISCO Network certification or 10+ years of hands-on Cisco IOS experience with design/deployment and supportProven ability to deliver while under tight timelinesDemonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve complex problemsExcellent communication skills including both verbal and writtenEligibility Requirements:
