Senior Staff Electrical Engineer, Advanced Operations

Who we want:

Stryker is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Operations team, supporting the Neurosurgical Business Unit. More specifically seeking an electrical engineer with software experience in a regulated environment. You will have the opportunity to work on the design transfer of new products from research through development and into production.


What you will do:
Technical Responsibilities:

Lead or mentor design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devicesConduct, design, and select advanced prototyping and testingLead and guide in correction of complex product design issuesConduct technology exploration and influence application in the businessTranslate user needs to design inputs/ specifications and produce complex system level designs independentlyIndependently make design tradeoff decisions while designing multiple components of the systemApply strong understanding of clinical procedures to enhance product developmentContribute to and execute customer facing activities like voice of customer and customer centric design in partnership with internal and external stakeholdersLead others to create and refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file and creates more progressive technical contentContribute to R&D procedures and development of industry standards working closely with cross-functional business unitsWork cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success, both leading and influencing other leaders on the teamIdentify and lead the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requiredExecute and lead segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/launch processHold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy and drive to meet business priorities
 

Minimum Qualifications:
 

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or related discipline6+ years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to lead or teach electrical engineers in electrical designFamiliarity with end of line test software for complex PCBA's and high-level console assembliesAdvanced understanding of the design of complex components and sub-systemsAbility to apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methodsAdvanced understanding of manufacturing and testing methodsAbility to perform complex electrical stackupsAdvanced understanding of statistical methodsAdvanced knowledge of sub-system, system, and environmental interactions

Travel Percentage: 20%
