Senior Staff Accountant
**Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant** **Schedule: Full Time/ Monday-Friday** **Location: Austin** **78746** **Length Of Assignment: Temporary Only** **Start Date: ASAP** **Pay: $35- $38 an hour** **Job description** **Staff Accountant Position:** The Senior Staff Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller and be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, credit card and bank transaction management, month-end close activities, and maintaining clean, accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude and good analytical and problem-solving skills. **Primary Responsibilities** : **Accounts Payable (AP) – Full Cycle** + Review the AP email inbox daily and respond to vendor and internal inquiries in a timely manner + Enter vendor invoices into QuickBooks using Bill Pay through Ramp software + Verify and route invoices to the appropriate internal approver for authorization using Bill Pay through Ramp software + Import approved AP bills from Ramp into QuickBooks + Prepare the weekly AP report for weekly AP meeting + Process payments through ACH and select payments using the company credit card + Import and categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks + Apply payments in QuickBooks, ensuring accurate balances + Maintain clean and accurate AP records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner **Credit Card Management** + Frequently review credit card transactions for completeness and accuracy + Ensure all transactions have proper support (receipts and memos) + Code transactions to the correct account and class/location + Import credit card transactions weekly into QuickBooks **Journal Entries & General Ledger** + Record complex journal entries as needed for accruals, corrections, or reclasses + Maintain accuracy and consistency in the general ledger + Ensure proper documentation and support for all entries **Month-End Close Activities** + Ensure all monthly transactions are recorded by the close deadline + Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards + Maintain and update the **Fixed Asset schedule** and record monthly depreciation journal entries + Update and reconcile other schedules such as: + Prepaid Expenses + Prepaid Insurance + Accrued Liabilities + Reconcile balance sheet accounts + Ensure all expenses are properly coded to the correct general ledger accounts **Minimum Job Requirements:** · At least 3 years of related accounting experience · Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly · Skilled with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel and PowerPoint · Knowledge of financial, payroll, and HR systems; previous experience with QuickBooks, Paycor and new system implementations is a plus · Ability to communicate effectively with others in written and spoken English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
