At our Siemens Mobility location in Munich-Allach, we develop and manufacture modern high-performance locomotives and passenger coaches. As a Senior Specialist Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our engineering team applies the optimum technologies to get the performance of our locomotives cleanly on the rails and to further develop our passenger coaches to optimize their vibration behavior.

Your focus will be on optimizing the traction behavior of our platforms and the dynamic behavior of their components. To this end, you will use your expertise in the fields of tribology, mechatronics and vibration analysis

 

What do you contribute?

The focus is on MBS modelling of the locomotive and the mapping of machine room / drivetrain components for multi-physics/hardware in the loop simulations You will participate in the further development of our components and support the engineering process. You will plan and supervise tests for the verification and analysis of components you supervise. You will analyze and solve in service problems of our vehicles in your area of responsibility. You will implement new technologies, tools and methods that enable the continuous improvement of the traction behavior of our locomotives. You will further develop our vibration analysis methods and techniques.  

What do you bring along?

Diploma/Master's degree in a relevant field and several years of work experience. In-depth knowledge in the vehicle/track interaction and the physics of wheel/rail contact with a focus on the tribology of the interface, vibration analysis by simulation and measurement in the time and frequency domain, mechatronics with a focus on locomotive drive train technology, MBS-Tools (SimPack) and MatLab/Simulink. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think abstractly and tackle technical/physical issues. Desire to optimize our designs and the ability to work effectively in a team. Fluent command of written and spoken German and English.
