We are hiring a **Senior Software Test Automation Engineer** , who is passionate about best practices and standards in test automation. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in both UI (Selenium) and API (Rest Assured) automation, using Java as their primary programming language. They should possess a solid understanding of various design principles and automation framework components, as well as strong proficiency with build management, CI, and source code management tools.
They should also possess such skills as test strategy ownership and test data management, as the only AQA on the team.

**Responsibilities**
+ Design and write functional, integration, and acceptance test cases
+ Automate test cases for regression, functional, and smoke testing
+ Plan and execute automation tasks while adhering to testing standards
+ Integrate test cycles with DevOps pipelines
+ Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve system issues
+ Automate testing for backend services (REST APIs)
+ Document defects and provide detailed reporting
+ Manage test data and test environments
+ Oversee version control for test scripts
+ Contribute to mainframe automation efforts, where applicable
**Requirements**
+ Experience: 5+ years in Quality Assurance, including at least 3+ years in test automation development or a blend of development and testing roles
+ API Testing: Hands-on experience in REST & SOAP API automation using Rest Assured
+ Automation Scripting: Proven ability to create and maintain automation scripts to ensure information systems and programs meet quality standards
+ Methodologies: Practical experience working in agile environments
+ Testing Skills: Strong background in functional, integration, and regression testing
+ Manual Testing: Good working knowledge of manual testing practices
+ CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines
+ Database: Proficiency in writing SQL queries
+ Mainframe Automation: Prior experience with mainframe automation is a significant plus
+ Organizational & Analytical Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational abilities
+ Data management: test data mocking
+ Must Have: Git, Jenkins, REST Assured, Selenium, Webservices, SQL, Java, Automation, Continuous Integration, Splunk
+ Nice to Have: Continuous Integration, Cucumber, Playwright, Azure
+ Bonus: Mainframe automation experience

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations.
