Senior Software Engineer - OpenShift Log Storage (Italy, Portugal, Poland)

The Red Hat OpenShift Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in. In this role, you will work as a member of a highly dynamic and collaborative engineering team which is tasked with developing our OpenShift Log Storage solution. The current Log Storage components are based upon Loki.  Development focus will be on active participation in the upstream open source communities as well as enhancements for scalability and performance. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the team's capabilities and deliverables by demonstrating technical competence, initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and teamwork while collaborating with a global team and stakeholders.


What you will do

Design and develop software in support of our Log Storage offering

Collaborate within and across Red Hat Observability teams to identify feature gaps

Advocate your work and Red Hat’s position in open source communities, such as Loki, and appropriate standards bodies

Work as part of an agile team to actively communicate status and complete deliverables on schedule

Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and product designers to shape, build, and improve new and existing features

Assist our Customer Support team in troubleshooting and resolving customer issues

What you will bring

5+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions

Experience working in Linux environments and with distributed systems

Working knowledge of several languages and frameworks including Go, Python

Familiarity and experience with the open source development process

Distributed source control experience like Git, including continuous integration (CI) workflows

Experience utilizing agile project methodologies and rapid iterations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams

Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift is desirable
