The Enterprise Data and AI organization unites the data governance, strategy, engineering, and product teams with those responsible for AI engineering, generative AI enablement, and automation product and engineering. This group plays a pivotal role in leveraging data as a core driver of innovation and integrating AI capabilities to transform products, operations, and customer experiences. The EDAI organization also incorporates technology Research & Development and experimentation with emerging capabilities, along with engineering support for Amex Digital Labs. This integration ensures that research breakthroughs seamlessly translate into business impact.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the design and development of a scalable, secure, and modern framework that streamlines onboarding and supports development teams across multiple business units within Amex—scaling to meet future demands. You will architect and implement modern API-driven services, application components as per enterprise standards. The role involves advancing ACE Studio Platform and associated components (e.g., Process Engine, Case Management, Core APIs, RPA, and Work Management) with a focus on performance, availability, and maintainability. You'll drive the development of ACE Framework and Platform components, self-service tools, and real-time analytics to enhance operational efficiency and reduce cost. Ideal candidates will demonstrate deep experience in cloud-native development, distributed systems, enterprise integration, and feature scalability to meet enterprise-wide modernization goals

Design, build and manage enterprise platform and frameworks for Process Management, Case Management, Work Management, Process MiningDesigning, developing, and supporting shared technology services used by the enterpriseLeading a small team of Java & Devops engineersTaking your place as a core member of an agile team driving the latest development practicesWriting code and unit tests, working with API specs and automation Finding opportunities for adopting new technologies 

Qualifications:

Preferably a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical field8+ years of hand on software development experienceExperience in Process Management, Case Management, Work Management is required.Experience in leading and driving overall project is requiredProgramming Languages and Frameworks – Hands on experience in some or all the following is preferred:Java, Python, Gihub Actions, Helm Chart, Istio Service Mesh,  Envoy, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, gRPC, JSON, CouchBase, Consul, Jenkins, , Elastic Stack, Kafka, Spark, Git, RDBMS like Postgres SQL, Springboot, multi-threaded programming, Maven, Gradle, JUnitExperience in Platform Engineering is preferredExperience in Automations, AI / ML driving cost savings is preferredAbility to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutionsWillingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potentialExtensive experience in designing and implementing large scale platforms with high resiliency, availability, and reliability.Strong experience in applications with high throughput and performanceExperience with micro services architectures and service mesh technologies is preferred.

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
