Senior Software Engineer - Empower Configuration

Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer within PNC's Lending Technology organization, you will be based in Downers Grove IL, Miamisburg OH, Pittsburgh PA, Birmingham AL, Strongsville OH, Jacksonville FL or Dallas TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.

The Software Engineer Sr. will join Home Lending Originations and work within Agile crews focused on solving business challenges related to First Mortgage and Home Equity products. This role is critical in guiding design and configuration solutions within the Empower Loan Origination System (LOS) and ensuring high-quality, customer-impacting changes. Documents Integration knowledge on the Docutech platform will be a plus, vendor engagement will be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and product demonstrations.
• Develop a deep understanding of origination systems to ensure accurate and effective solutions.
• Escalate issues to the appropriate resource (Product Owner, Tech Lead, Tech Manager) as needed.
• Collaborate with business and technology partners to design and present configuration solutions.
• Create configuration and design documentation aligned with departmental standards.
• Deliver reliable, thorough, and defect-free design solutions for high-visibility customer-facing and internal processes.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners across Compliance, Risk, Pricing, Sales, and Operations.
• Configure and manage Empower Setups and other configuration tools.
• Implement and validate new enhancements to document packages and documents through the Docutech platforms (e.g., Solex, ConformX), ensuring accurate document generation.
• Engage and collaborate with vendor for implementation and release preparation.
• Perform release notes analysis, support client-side implementation of releases, and drive production incident triage.

Preferred Skills
• Experience with Empower LOS & Empower setups, including mapping tree updates, document package designer, workflow and OE (orchestration Engine).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
• Experience querying SQL database
• Understanding of document generation workflows (Docutech platform experience preferred)
• Ability to manage and validate API/XML payloads, automate integrations, and ensure compliance

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $152,375.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
