Summary:

As a key technical and strategic contributor, the Programmer/Developer will collaborate with various stakeholders—including IT, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Commercial, and Legal—to ensure that privacy programs are executed with excellence. This role demands a practitioner with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, design comprehensive privacy solutions, and optimize existing operations. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in executing projects across multiple scripting and programming languages, with a focus on operational efficiency and compliance.

Technical and Functional Responsibilities

Project Execution and Design: Lead the development, configuration, and enhancement of data privacy applications, especially on SharePoint, using a variety of scripting and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, present technical solutions, and ensure alignment of privacy and compliance initiatives.

Solution Optimization: Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and optimize privacy-related operations and integrations.

Tool Deployment and Configuration: Utilize leading data risk and privacy management tools, such as OneTrust, TrustArc, and Microsoft Purview, to enhance organizational compliance frameworks.Continual Improvement: Demonstrate critical thinking to address business and industry challenges, recommending and implementing effective solutions to improve products, processes, and systems.

Regulatory Compliance: Implement IT controls to meet regulatory requirements and assess the impact of emerging regulations on operations.

People Management Responsibilities

Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development to ensure team members adhere to BMS standards and excel in their roles.

Inclusive Leadership: Encourage collaboration in diverse, multi-cultural teams across various locations, enhancing team productivity and creativity.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (B.E./B.Tech. preferred).

Technical Expertise:

Proven track record in developing or executing projects using various programming and scripting languages, including Java, Python, and JavaScript.Experience in customizing and developing applications on SharePoint is essential.Familiarity with industry-leading data privacy tools such as OneTrust, TrustArc, or Microsoft Purview.

Soft Skills and Leadership:

Ability to independently make impactful decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Commitment to personal and professional growth, demonstrating adaptability and proactive learning.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, contributing to the success of the team.

Communication Skills:

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word for communication, workload management, and project tracking.
