Senior Software Engineer, Throtle (an IQVIA company)Job Overview

Throtle (an IQVIA company) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-performance applications that power our core data-driven products. You will work across the full technology stack, leveraging modern front-end frameworks, backend services, cloud-native AWS infrastructure, and relational databases.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and distributed servicesLead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions across the stackBuild and enhance user interfaces using modern frameworks such as ReactDevelop backend services and APIs using Python and/or GoDesign, optimize, and maintain relational databases, primarily PostgreSQLLeverage AWS services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway) to ensure scalability, security, and performanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps within an Agile/Scrum environmentMentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellenceOwn features end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoringEnsure adherence to best practices in software development, security, and performance optimizationMinimum Required Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline5+ years of professional software development experienceProven experience as a Senior Software Engineer contributing to complex, large-scale systemsTechnical Skills & QualificationsStrong experience building modern web applications using ReactProficiency in backend development using Python or Go (experience with both preferred)Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectureSolid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQLExperience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologiesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation) is preferredKnowledge of software security best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10, secure coding principles)Strong coding practices with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable codeSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical conceptsAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a teamProven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentPassion for innovation, continuous learning, and mentoring others

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $92,600.00 - $231,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
