Job Description

As a Network Application Developer and Tester, you will work on short‑term projects for Rockwell Automation, focusing on fixing errors in embedded network communication applications written in C and developing automated functional tests in Python. You will collaborate with global teams.

You will be part of the development group responsible for the IP stack within a specialized internal toolkit. This toolkit is used across Rockwell Automation as part of the Common Solution, providing a unified, reusable communication layer shared by multiple product lines. Your work will therefore contribute directly to core technology used company‑wide.

You will report to TEAM LEAD, RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT.

Your Responsibilities: Find and eliminate errors in embedded network communication applications in C.Develop intelligent automated functional tests in Python 3.Quickly navigate and understand existing codebases.Use debugging tools to identify and resolve issues.Independence in task execution at a senior engineer level.

The Essentials - You Will Have: Knowledge of C or C++.Routine Knowledge of Python (preferably Python 3).Knowledge of debugging tools.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have: 5+ years of experience with embedded development and optimization for sizeExperience with multiplatform development (Windows/Linux/HW platforms)Knowledge of CMake, Git, UML, and Jira.Experience with Agile developmentKnowledge of network communication and protocols (ISO/OSI model, BSD socket API)Experience with embedded environment (Raspberry Pi, Beagle Board, ...)
