The Azure Core New Technology team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help develop and automate the onboarding process for new hardware platforms. This includes verifying, managing, and delivering hardware to Microsoft datacenters for Azure, High-Performance Computing, Microsoft Office, and Edge Computing products. The team operates at the intersection of software and hardware, building systems that validate, track, and manage hardware throughout its lifecycle—from arrival to retirement—while ensuring quality, security, and metadata accuracy. This work supports capacity expansion across Microsoft services and accelerates the adoption of emerging hardware technologies in the cloud.
In this role, you will design and implement features that enable new technologies to be onboarded efficiently. You will collaborate with teams across Azure to understand requirements, contribute to system architecture, and deliver scalable solutions. This opportunity allows you to deepen your expertise in both software and hardware while working on impactful projects that shape the future of Microsoft Azure.
The team offers a flexible work environment that includes hands-on hardware opportunities and hybrid work options. In alignment with Microsoft’s values, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can contribute meaningfully and positively influence our culture. This United States–based position supports remote work, though relocation is not provided.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
