**A Day in the Life**
Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes. We’re a mission-driven leader in medical technology and solutions with a legacy of integrity and innovation, join our new Minimed India Hub as a Sr Software Development Engineer in Test. As a Sr Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies for our native mobile applications and service. This is a hands-on, coding-intensive role requiring a deep understanding of software testing technologies, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of ensuring the reliability and performance of mobile and web applications. Our product suite spans from medical devices that a patient wears, to mobile apps, up to our back-end servers, presenting a challenging and rewarding environment that demands very critical thinking to ensure the system performs exceptionally. You will act as an 'engineer' – a critical thinker who solves problems efficiently, pragmatically, and continually seeks information from all sources.
This role offers a dynamic opportunity to join Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of SpinCo or the transition of the Diabetes business to another company, your employment may transfer to either SpinCo or the other company, at Medtronic's discretion and subject to any applicable information and consultation requirements in your jurisdiction.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned**
+ **Test Strategy and Planning:**
+ Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for native mobile applications, including functional, smoke, and regression testing.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product engineering, product marketing, quality, and systems) to define testing objectives, scope, and deliverables.
+ Determine required level of testing based on software requirements and develop test plans and protocols in accordance with regulatory environments
+ **Test Automation:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain advanced automated test frameworks and scripts for front-end (mobile/web), back-end, and performance testing.
+ Ensure continuous integration and delivery pipelines are robust and reliable, driving their implementation and maintenance.
+ Develop technologies across iOS, Android, and Web, paired with continuous build and test with various system tools.
+ **Non-Functional Testing & System Resilience:**
+ Drive comprehensive testing efforts to ensure the application's scalability, responsiveness, stability, robustness, and fault tolerance. This includes identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, incorporating security testing with experts to ensure compliance, and executing reliability tests for long-term consistent operation under various conditions.
+ **Collaboration and Leadership:**
+ Work closely with development, operations, and architecture teams to understand system architecture and design, ensuring products work properly from end-to-end, both pre and post-release.
+ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the testing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
+ Partner with software development as part of sprint development within an Agile/Scrum environment.
+ **Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:**
+ Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud services, mobile applications, and device interactions.
+ Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner, including providing detailed root cause analysis.
+ **Documentation:**
+ Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
+ Document and communicate testing processes and best practices.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in software testing with a minimum of 3 years of experience in test automation.
+ Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer with a strong focus on mobile applications.
+ Extensive experience in test automation using tools like Appium (specifically highlighted), Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar, and strong scripting skills in languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python.
+ Deep understanding of software testing technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
+ Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests into them (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Circle CI).
+ Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
+ Ability to work effectively in a very high-paced agile environment.
**Nice to Have:**
+ Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
+ Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, BlazeMeter) and methodologies.
+ Experience working with Flutter based Mobile Apps
+ Familiarity with MedTech products, firmware-based products, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) testing.
+ Previous experience in a principal or lead testing role.
+ Experience developing automated test tools for commercial software products.
+ Experience coordinating with remote and geographically distributed teams.
+ Strong attention to detail and self-motivated, driven to meet objectives.
