Senior Software Architect
**Core Skills** + 15+ years of hands-on software development experience, with 3-5 years in a senior/principal architect role. + Proven expertise in C# .NET and/or Java. Flexibility to work across both technologies is strongly preferred. + Solid experience in backend architecture including system design patterns, cloud infrastructure, scalability, and reliability. + Proficient in cloud-native architectures using AWS (preferred). Experience with Azure or GCP is a plus. + Strong foundation in software design principles, design patterns, and clean architecture. + Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex, multi-generation software products. + Deep understanding of Healthcare software systems and regulatory environments (FDA, EU MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, etc.). + Strong working knowledge of Design Quality Engineering processes and methodologies (e.g., risk management, traceability, V&V planning, defect prevention). + Experience in Agile methodologies, tooling, and best practices. + Strong problem-solving, abstraction, and analytical capabilities. + Ability to work effectively with multisite, cross-functional teams. + Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder, and communication skills. + Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. + Ability to drive innovation while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. **Technical Leadership & Problem Solving** + Independently identify, analyse, and resolve complex architectural challenges using structured, data-driven techniques. + Guide and direct technology selection aligned with long-term strategic product goals and compliance requirements. + Design for performance, reliability, and compliance in cloud environments using microservices, containers, message buses, etc. **Design Quality Engineering & Compliance** + Drive and embed DQE principles into the software development lifecycle – including design traceability, defect prevention, and rigorous verification and validation planning. + Collaborate closely with Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs teams to ensure software meets product quality and compliance benchmarks. + Ensure architectural decisions support robust documentation practices required for FDA submissions and CE marking (e.g., 510(k), Technical Files). + Lead risk assessments, hazard analysis, and ensure alignment with standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 14971, HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 13485. **Mentorship & Team Development** + Mentor junior engineers and architects in architecture principles and quality-by-design practices. + Cultivate a culture of engineering rigor, compliance consciousness, and architectural excellence. + Promote best practices for defect prevention and continuous improvement. **Regulatory Risk & Compliance Management** + Evaluate third-party components and open-source usage through a regulatory and quality lens. + Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to product safety, privacy, and regulatory non-conformance. + Champion continuous audit-readiness and quality documentation. **Key Job expectation:** Improve productivity / reduce release cycle time through effective use of AI. As part of our modern engineering culture, we are actively leveraging AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, OpenAI Codex, and similar platforms to augment our software engineering workflows. We expect all candidates to be adept in using these tools to enhance productivity, improve code quality, and collaborate effectively. This includes: + Using AI tools for code generation, refactoring, and documentation. + Understanding prompts and model behavior for high-accuracy suggestions. + Applying AI in debugging, test case creation, and code reviews. + Familiarity with productivity enhancements and limitations of AI tooling. + This capability is mandatory for all engineering roles on the team. **How we work together** We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
