Job Title: Senior Site Support Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Site Support Engineer will play a crucial role in providing site engineering support and collaborating with partner organizations and suppliers to enhance the detailed design and effectively execute a new plant project. This role involves coordinating design deliverables among the site, fabrication, and design teams for a new nuclear power plant. The engineer will oversee all construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with plans and specifications, managing construction teams, addressing technical issues, and monitoring progress while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the construction and installation of civil structures within a nuclear power plant, ensuring compliance with strict safety regulations, quality standards, and technical specifications.Actively monitor progress on site, resolve technical issues, and coordinate with various project stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget.Act as a liaison engineer with clients, subcontractors, fabricators, and civil/structural design teams.Perform oversight on construction and fabrication deliverables.Review, coordinate, and manage the disposition of Field Change Notices (FCN) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).Provide technical advice and support in solving site problems.Develop engineering reports for site engineering disposition.Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners.Work proactively with existing BWR product line and quality personnel through process procedure approvals, process qualification approvals, and non-conforming material disposition.

Essential Skills

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, specifically dealing with Plate Steel and Structural Steel.Professional Engineering Designation.6+ years of experience in shop engineering or field engineering; experience with welding and fabrication of steel.Experience in the nuclear industry is required.Must go through an Export Controls (EC) screening.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Preference for candidates with experience in outage environments (oil & gas or Nuclear).Ideal candidates have a history of moving from the shop to the site.Ability to stay within Cambridge for 2-3 years minimum supporting Aecon's fabrication shop.

Work Environment

The work location will initially be in a fabrication shop in Cambridge until Fall 2026, then move to Darlington for the next 10-12 years. Work hours will be from 8-5 on site at Cambridge, with the potential requirement of 15-20 hours of overtime per week, including some weekend work to meet the schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
