As a Senior Service Support Test Engineer, you will support service operations through advanced testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of excitation systems, control panels, and specialized service tooling. You will work hands‑on with electrical power systems, ensuring that all equipment meets contract requirements and customer specifications, including during customer‑witnessed testing sessions. You will also create and manage safety documentation for testing environments.
Excitation & AVR TestingPerforming testing of AVR (Auto Voltage Regulator) systems, including excitation and flash testing.Configuring equipment to meet contract requirements, including supporting customer witness testing.
Control Panel TestingConducting earth bonding, insulation, flash, and internal testing of control panels.Completing all testing activities per contract specifications, including customer‑witnessed validation.
Service Tooling & CalibrationTesting, controlling, and calibrating field service tooling.Checking kit contents for functionality and replacing items as needed.Performing internal calibration of specialized service tools such as Q‑meters.
Repair & Laboratory WorkCarrying out in‑house repairs on service equipment.Creating and monitoring Risk Assessments (RAs) and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) for laboratory testing environments.

To be successful in this role, you will:
Qualifications (Preferred)HNC/HND in Electrical Power Engineering (preferred but not essential).Essential Skills & BehaviorsStrong problem‑solving abilities.Solid understanding of 3‑phase electrical systems.Knowledge of power generation systems.Experience working with generators and motors.Familiarity with Modbus communications.Understanding of Ethernet protocols.Prior experience using meggers, injection sets, and power supplies is highly
desirable.

This is a full‑time, hands‑on technical support role that involves service test lab work, equipment calibration, customer‑witness testing, and occasional repair activities. Work may include interaction with service teams, engineering groups, and field support personnel.
