**The role you'll contribute:**
The Senior Scientist - TRI Faculty MD is responsible for leading research at the TRI and participating in the development of Industry/NIH/Pharmaceutical research that supports the TRI scientific research plan. Under the direction of the Scientific Director, is responsible for post-doctoral staff assisting with research and provides guidance to other support staff in the performance of protocol specific tasks. The Senior Scientist-TRI Faculty MD ensures that all research performed under their direction is in compliance with all AdventHealth, TRI, local, state, and federal policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all
**The value you'll bring to the team:**
+ Serve as physician for TRI.
+ Lead and collaborate on the construction and submission of investigator-initiated research protocols for external funding.
+ Be responsible for the following: (i) generating grant funds to cover at least the percentage of salary that is equivalent to the percentage of full time hours allocated to Senior Scientist responsibilities or the maximum allowed pursuant to NIH salary limitations based on Executive Level II of the Federal Executive pay scale, which is updated twice per year; and (ii) maintaining industry sources and federal and non-federal granting agencies or equivalent funding of at least the same percentage of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) that is equal to the percentage of full time hours allocated to Senior Scientist responsibilities per Contract Year, provided, however, unless otherwise agreed to in advance and in writing by Institute after AdventHealth legal review, such amounts generated for the Salary Goal and Funding Goal shall not include revenue from federal contracts.
+ Lead and collaborate on research protocols, including consent and investigator brochure review.
+ Actively participate in appropriate TRI management committee meetings, to the extent requested by TRI.
+ Ensure that all research performed under their direction is in compliance with all applicable AdventHealth Policies and Procedures, as well as all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations, and ensure that the protocols and grants that are written conform to the regulations that govern these areas.
+ Fulfill Institutional Review Board (IRB) and NIH education and compliance requirements.
+ Recruit and mentor Junior and Associate Faculty Scientists, and other TRI scientists.
Qualifications
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
+ Education MD Required
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
+ 10 years experience
