We are seeking a Senior SAP BW Software Engineer with strong leadership and technical skills to join our global IT Engineering team. This role serves as a technical owner of SAP BW solutions, responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining high-quality code and guiding junior developers. You will work closely with software managers, architects, and global service managers to design, implement, and support innovative SAP solutions.
This is a global expert role, representing the final level of support within the team — ideal for someone who thrives in a complex, collaborative, and high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical owner of SAP BW solutions, responsible for both development and ongoing maintenance.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of SAP solutions based on functional specifications and business requirements.
Customize existing SAP modules and applications to align with business needs.
Participate in requirements gathering sessions and translate them into technical specifications.
Integrate SAP solutions with other enterprise systems to ensure efficient data flow and process optimization.
Design and implement interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers (Band 1s).
Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality and alignment with business needs.
Document development processes, technical specifications, and system configurations.
Ensure all solutions comply with internal standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain high availability and performance of SAP systems through proactive support and troubleshooting.
Collaborate cross-functionally with software managers, global architects, and service managers throughout project lifecycles.
Lead and manage a team of software engineers during project execution and ongoing support activities.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
7+ years of experience in SAP development, particularly SAP BW.
Proven experience in ABAP / BW programming, including custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
Familiarity with SAP HANA, Fiori, and modern SAP frameworks.
Strong understanding of SAP integration with other systems (e.g., middleware, APIs).
Experience in database management and SQL, especially within SAP data environments.
Knowledge of SAP best practices, Agile methodologies (Scrum), and project management tools.
Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate) are a plus.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Proven experience in leading teams and managing complex SAP projects.
Fluency in English is required.
Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with evolving SAP technologies.
