Role Overview We are seeking a Senior ABAP Developer to own and enhance the technical backbone of the Capture Financial Data (CFD) application. This role is primarily technical, with approximately 70% focused on hands-on ABAP development, system enhancements, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the application’s infrastructure. The CFD application plays a critical role in the financial systems landscape by ensuring accurate replication of Financial (FI) and Controlling (CO) documents—and CO objects—from supply chain systems (formerly ECC) into Central Finance (HG*). The developer will ensure these data flows are stable, compliant, and aligned with business requirements. The remaining 30% of the role includes strategic work: driving the application roadmap, collaborating with business and operations teams, leading improvements, and managing lifecycle activities. Key Responsibilities + Perform ABAP development for the CFD application, including enhancements, performance optimizations, troubleshooting, and custom program creation. + Develop and maintain CDS Views, AMDPs, and other S/4HANA-related objects used in financial replication and reporting. + Review system performance regularly and drive improvements through high-quality development work. + Support monitoring, debugging, and issue resolution for CFD replication processes (FI, CO, CO Objects). + Ensure transport management across Development, Testing, and Production environments (SAP Solution Build). Strategic & Application Ownership + Own the end-to-end application lifecycle for CFD replication, ensuring long-term stability, compliance, and continuous improvement. + Define and align the strategy for the CFD application in partnership with business and operations teams. + Lead improvement initiatives, governance practices, and technical documentation. + Apply Change Management and ITIL principles to ensure smooth system updates and releases. + Manage projects related to new implementations, upgrades, or system enhancements. + Contribute to capability building within the team through knowledge sharing and mentorship. + Maintain a consistent “Lights-On” view over application management and operations. Job Qualifications Top Requirements + Strong ABAP development experience (70% of the role). + Experience with SAP S/4HANA and understanding of SAP core components. + Solid understanding of SAP architecture and financial integration points. + Experience with SAP Solution Build – Transport Management (Development, Testing, Production). + Project management fundamentals and ability to lead technical initiatives. Technical Knowledge + Expert-level ABAP development, including monitoring, enhancements, and program creation. + Familiarity with SLT (SAP Landscape Transformation) and Data in Hub (DIH). + Proficiency in CDS Views for data modeling, reporting, and data extraction. + Knowledge of application lifecycle management and SAP ALM tools. + Understanding of Change Management and ITIL practices. + Proven track record managing business-critical SAP applications with stability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
