Senior Sales Director Medical EMEA

**WHAT YOU WILL DO:**
Reporting directly to the VP Medical EMEA, the Senior Sales Director, Medical, EMEA will be responsible for the sales function of Stryker Medical EMEA and contributes to creating a regional Medical EMEA-wide profitable growth strategy in alignment with the annual Medical Marketing and budget planning strategies.
The major focus of the role is development & ownership the Medical EMEA regional sales strategy, programs, and to carry the full management of the P&L, gross margin, operating margin, and associated tactical sales plans within the region.
The position will recruit, develop, and manage the Medical EMEA regional organization to also meet planned personnel and growth goals. This position will be responsible for creation and maintenance of consistent and fair metrics for all EMEA sales regions to measure performance, market share, and understand trends in Medical total market. This leadership role will actively participate in all Medical senior level global reviews and host EMEA sales leadership calls and meetings.
**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:**
**Business Management and Selling**
+ Provides leadership and direction with regard to strategies for driving sales growth by providing leadership direction to the sales process and structure, identification of emerging markets, penetration of existing markets, orders, margin, and unit forecasting; competitive assessment; gap analysis, distribution and pricing.
+ Makes decisions that drive and support corporate/divisional selling initiatives.
+ Makes decisions and provides direction to sales support/marketing staff members in activities such as sales promotion, product launches, clinical trial data in marketing and sales materials, training and execution of special projects
+ Monitors divisions sales performance on an ongoing basis and deciding on appropriate corrective actions
+ Responsible for control and management of divisions sales P&L
+ Ensure sales objectives are met and within budget
+ Integrates all sales plans into a broader divisional sales plan and coaches BUDs accordingly.
+ Involves marketing and sales leadership management in annual budget planning process.
+ Conducts quarterly sales reviews and adjusts strategies accordingly.
+ Establishes overall business selling strategies and priorities.
+ Hold BUD’s accountable for the effective management of regional demo units and work to ensure their sale within expected guidelines.
+ Collaboration with finance teams to ensure all record-keeping and financial accounting is in accordance with Stryker specifications.
+ Ensure forecasting on a monthly/quarterly basis is aligned and accurate for use in planning, manufacturing and inventory management, partnering with EDR, IBP and Finance.
+ Ensures Compliance with all applicable laws. Working closely with our ICM team, and ensuring we have the right IC partners to ethically grow our business.
+ Drives execution through sales excellence programs at all levels.
**Industry Knowledge**
+ Educates the leadership team and internal management on up-to-date industry, competitor & product knowledge and changes including data-driven market share reporting.
+ Maintains awareness of broad industry trends and their impact on the overall business objectives.
**Creative Economic and Value-Added Solutions**
+ Develops and maintains relationships with the key economic buyers in their division
+ Prepares annual divisions sales forecasts and participates and determines the market potential and sales expense estimates with annual budgeting.
+ Evaluates and makes decisions on complex sales situations at high levels and reach “Win/Win” agreements.
+ Defines negotiation parameters for tough economically constrained customer situations and creates deal modelling/ contracting protocols for the Sales force.
+ Assists in the development of economic strategy and policy.
**Building and Maintaining Relationships**
+ Builds and maintains strong relationships with senior levels
+ Develop and maintain relationships with key SYK functional areas including but not limited to; country leadership teams, Commercial services, marketing, finance, corporate programs and regulatory affairs
+ Point position for Medical EMEA cross-divisional collaboration opportunities and communications.
+ Spends time in each country to support their needs and to maintain and develop strong relationships and understanding of the customer
+ Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area supported. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED:**
**Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills**
+ 10 plus years successful sales management experience, documented success in sales and or sales & marketing.
+ Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree highly preferred.
+ Strong background in people management, be viewed by his/her peers as a leader.
+ Ability to create an environment of trust, team accountability, and transparent communication.
+ Possess a strong ability to engage their team driving a strong growth mindset and commercial excellence culture in a multi-country cultural environment.
+ Proven ability to create new market spaces and gain major market share to competition
+ Strong belief in our Global divisional product strategy

+ Fluent in English, additional European language would be an asset.
