We are seeking an experienced Sales & Use Tax Specialist to support a high‑volume indirect tax environment with a strong emphasis on invoice‑level tax determination, accruals, compliance, and process improvement. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented tax professional who enjoys structured, repetitive work while also helping transition manual tax processes into scalable, automated solutions.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate sales and use tax treatment, supporting compliance, audits, and strengthening internal controls in an evolving environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze high‑volume monthly invoices (100+ per month) to determine proper sales & use tax treatmentIdentify untaxed purchases and calculate and record use tax accrualsPerform invoice‑level tax validation, compliance checks, and supporting analysisConduct technical tax research and document conclusions through written memosRun monthly reports to identify untaxed transactions and ensure accurate remittance to the State of FloridaPartner closely with Accounts Payable to:Review and validate invoice data used in tax reportingImprove upstream data accuracy and tax determinationIdentify and implement process improvements and automation opportunitiesAssist with sales & use tax filings, ensuring timely, accurate compliance with state and local requirementsSupport sales & use tax audits, including documentation and data requestsEnhance internal controls and documentation related to indirect tax processesContribute to continuous improvement efforts in a changing, evolving tax environmentWhat to Expect in This RoleHeavy focus on manual processes transitioning toward automationExposure to new workflows, systems enhancements, and evolving tax processesOpportunity to help build, refine, and standardize sales & use tax processesA highly structured, detail‑driven role with large data volumes and recurring deadlinesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)5+ years of Sales & Use Tax experience in a high‑volume environmentStrong hands‑on experience with:Invoice‑level tax determination and accrualsSales & use tax compliance and audit supportTax research and technical memo writingExperience working within ERP systems (Infor experience is a plus)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reconciliation, reporting)Preferred ExperienceExperience with tax engines such as:Vertex (preferred)Avalara, OneSource, or similar toolsFamiliarity with indirect tax automation initiativesPrior experience supporting Florida sales & use tax remittance

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
