SENIOR SAFETY & RISK ENGINEER

Airswift is seeking for a Senior Safety & Risk Engineer to work with our client based in QATAR.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and perform safety and risk engineering activities for onshore and offshore brownfield projects. Develop and review safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, QRA, FERA, EERA, and SIMOPS. Prepare and review safety deliverables such as Fire & Gas Detection Layouts, Escape Route Layouts, Safety Equipment Layouts, and Hazardous Area Classification. Ensure compliance with international safety standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Interface with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure integrated and safe design solutions. Support project risk assessments and provide technical input during design reviews and audits. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements: Minimum 12 years of experience in safety design within the onshore/offshore oil & gas industry, specifically in brownfield environments. Proven track record of delivering safety and risk engineering services from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through to detailed design, execution, and commissioning. Recent experience working in an engineering consultancy within a multidisciplinary project environment is essential. Strong knowledge of international safety codes and standards (e.g., API, NFPA, IEC, ISO). Proficient in safety software tools such as DNV Phast, PIPENET, FLACS, or similar. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Safety Engineering (or equivalent). Master’s degree is a plus.
